    Not expensive, easy to use.

The most difficult part of using this is determining where in your car the connection is, and then bending and twisting around to plug it in.

I have a friend who is an auto tech and owns a multi-thousand dollar scanner that can probably tell you what the last song playing on the car radio was. This scanner will not do that, but it does seem to do a lot!

There is a little bit of setup, you have to create an account first so I would do that on your computer before you go out to the car. You will also need the manual because there is a sticker on it that has the serail number for the unit as well as an activation code. Once you do that you are good to go.

My car doesn't not have any problems (that I'm aware of) and the scnner confirmed that. But it gives me a good case line reading of what everything should be. With the scanner plugged in you just go through the various options and choose whatever test you want to run and check. Some take longer than others, but nothing is too long.

Instead of going to the local mechanic and being charged to read a code, or going to the local auto parts store and getting it done for free, it's nice to have your own device so you can skip both of those steps. Not necessary for the car that I have now, but I've had a bunch of cars in the past there were always throwing a code for something. This is a cheap way to check those things yourself. Not expensive, easy to use.
